share the EF love.

It’s the coolest thing when I hear that people get noticed and have received compliments on their earrings. And even cooler that they tell their friends about EarringFancy Jewelry! But for those who are forgetful, (like me), a verbal reference is just not enough. It’s helpful to have something as a reminder for where to go, like a little card. Save the card backings of your earrings, and keep for a moment when you can pass it along on to someone who asks so they know exactly where to find EarringFancy.

I just learned that orange is a color that triggers creativity in people. That sorta explained to me why of all the colors of the spectrum that I’ve considered for EF, I kept coming back to orange. To be honest, I don’t really like the color in general. Yet, ever since my creative outlet in EF was born, orange has been the consistent thread in the brand. I guess when I associate the color with EF, it’s different because it expresses characteristics that I want for it: refreshing, vibrant, positive, bold, and cute with others–no wonder. Apparently, the magic behind the theory is that visual input of the color orange is said to somehow increase oxygen supply to the brain producing an invigorating effect, in turn stimulating mental activity. And with a cup of coffee…even better!

you complete me.

When digging through tubs of buttons, I often stumble across oddly unique ones that really surprise me.  And by persistently combing my fingers thru piles and piles, I can catch one with the exact same design. But sadly, there are times when the other one is nowhere to be found.  Here are a few that I just had to keep, hopeful for the day when I come across their other halves. Oh the possibilities, if only…

rediscovered again.

I just finished a new batch of earrings for an upcoming event (which I will announce soon) and pulled the buttons from a large collection that I’ve had for the past year. It was a culmination of styles that I sought out once a week (or two) after my day job from one of my favorite crafts stores of all time, now closed :( , Beverly’s Crafts on Bascom Ave. They really had the most unique and special buttons for me to use. I guess my style preferences have changed since the last time I made earrings because if I hadn’t used them yet, I wasn’t feeling the design or the color at the time - but I do now! Especially the gold ones, I love the dramatic shape. You’ll see all these online next week.

The red and blue ones remind me of the earrings my mom and aunts would rock in the early 90’s with thier oversized-shoulder-padded blazers.  Should I be questioning my rediscovered taste in styles?  Leave a comment to let me know which ones you like or hate, or what these remind you of.

on sale at plumspa.

PlumSpa, a San Jose spa, supports local jewelry designers and have recently begun selling EarringFancy from their South First Street location. A very select batch of designs are for sale right in the front lobby. Here you’ll see, that there are some styles that didn’t make it in the online shop simply because I didn’t have enough materials to make more than one or two pairs. And if you do stop by to purchase, you should take a look at trying one of the many services provided by the seriously skilled and friendly staff members.

i love titanium.

Yes, we’ve all done it. We’ve endured physical pain and discomfort in the name of style. I was fully aware that those super cute one-of-a-kind heels would leave my toes numb and throbbing after a night of dancing, and that those skinny jeans would make it hard for me to sit comfortably in my chair for a full day at work, but still I wore them and without complaint! And in the past, I would even risk itchy, crusty ears for that “perfect for the outfit” pair of earrings. But that was then and now I’m older, wiser…

Microscopic Spherical Titanium

My point is, you don’t have to worry about that with EarringFancy button or stud earrings. I make these earrings with biocompatible titanum metal and your skin tissue is not expected to reject it and freak out. This metal is used by professionals for body piercing, by surgeons for hip-joint replacements, by dentists for dental fixtures, and by me for fashionable jewelry! It’s as strong as steel and doesn’t corrode easily, and it’s flexible and lightweight enough to not hang heavy on your lobes. This is NOT a guarantee that you won’t break out in a reaction. I know each person’s skin tissue is different and has specific levels of allergy sensitivity, but you can be comforted by the fact that it’s safe enough to try. Especially if the earrings are THAT cute. What you’re looking at above is a microscopic view of titanum. Beautiful, right?

clicking refresh.

I’ve actually had this blog since 2007 but have been unsuccessful in building it into what I envisioned. So I’m doing a refresh and starting over.
